2 killed and 3 missing in Cloudburst in Sonmarg in J&K

Two persons, including a 15-year-old girl, were killed when a cloudburst in Sonmarg in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Three others are missing.

The downpour happened at Kellan town close Gagangir, 76 kms from Srinagar at 6.30 PM, after which Srinagar-Leh parkway was shut.

A police official recognized the perished as a young lady named Iqra Nazir.

Two more inhabitants of Kellan town were missing and two workers from Gangangir couldn’t be followed as the Army mounted an alleviation operation to clear the national expressway.

Four Spanish and two structural specialists were rescused by the Army from this zone promptly after the characteristic catastrophe.

Gagangir is the spot before Sonamarg from where the prestigious Z-Morh burrow crosswise over Zozila Pass is proposed to be built for an all-climate street in the middle of Srinagar and Kargil.

Outskirt Roads Organization (BRO) has squeezed its men and machines in operation alongside Army specialists and Rashtriya Rifles jawans who had been posted on guarding the smooth behavior of Amarnath journey.

The Army opened its travel camp at Sonamarg for regular folks who had been evacauated from these zones other than squeezing into operation 11 portable groups to give sustenance and medicinal supply to the poor.

There were avalanches in Sonamarg zone and the Army obliged the regular citizens in travel camps.

On the Baltal-Amarnath yatra highway, a scaffold collapsed at Sheshnag yet there was no report of any loss.

A transport with nobody on board was additionally washed away in the downpours.
