A Second Universal Airport for the National Capital Soon

NEW DELHI: The Civil Aviation Ministry has cleared a proposition for a brief moment airplane terminal in the National Capital Region to share the developing traveler load at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, which took care of 40 million travelers in 2014-15.

Reports said the new airplane terminal is prone to be assembled in Jewar, Greater Noida, where the legislature has procured area.

Priest of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma said on Thursday that the proposition would be sent to the Union Cabinet soon for its approbation.

He said the service proposes to give the GMR Group, which works the Indira Gandhi International Airport Ltd in Delhi, a first right of refusal for the task.

For the new venture, the administration will need to revise certain regulations, as existing models don’t allow a second air terminal inside of a 150 km span of a current one, unless the recent is working past its operational

limit.
