Dressed As A Ninja Turtle This 5-Year-Old Boy Is Battling Cancer

Meet Harley Renshaw, a brave 5-year-old from Britain who has created a Ninja Turtle superhero costume to help him face months of grueling treatments as he fights a rare form of cancer.

Harley was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer, which he is fighting in his kidney, neck, lung, and bones. The youngster, who is now taking part in a Cancer Research UK funded clinical trial at Royal Manchester Children’s hospital, has already had to endure 80 days of intensive chemotherapy and an operation to remove a tumor in his kidney.

As reported in the Manchester Evening News, hospital staff were amazed when he asked if he could decorate the protective medical mask that holds him still while having the treatment. He says the Ninja Turtle mask makes him feel stronger during the procedures.

“When we received Harley’s diagnosis, we were in complete shock,” says his mother. “Our world came crashing down and we were terrified. But not once did Harley complain about going for treatment.” She added that, “The hospital staff were amazed at how well he behaved during his radiotherapy and how he managed to keep so still.”
