There are more troubles awaiting for Yog guru Baba Ramdev as the Election Commission on Monday banned Baba Ramdev’s camps in Chamba and Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh. A fresh FIR was also filed against the yoga guru in Patna over his controversial honeymoon remark against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
The latest EC action against Ramdev comes a day after the poll panel banned all his programmes in Lucknow till the elections were over.
FIRs were filed against Ramdev in Lucknow and Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh as well as in Ahmedabad in Gujarat over his remarks that had sparked massive outrage with the various parties demanding strong action against Ramdev for his “anti-Dalit” remark even as he later apologised for his statement.
Meanwhile, senior JD(U) leader and Bihar Minister Shyam Rajak filed yet another FIR against Ramdev over his remarks on Rahul Gandhi and demanded his arrest.
The case was registered in Patna under SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act in addition to the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Ramdev, who is supporting BJP in the ongoing general elections, had on April 25 said, “Rahul Gandhi goes to houses of Dalits for honeymoon and picnic.”
