Gopal Rai, Delhi Transport Minister has requested the suspension of 20 DTC drivers after they were discovered to be nonattendant from obligation amid a shock examination, an announcement said on Sunday.
Rai investigated the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) station at Rajghat and found that the standard drivers had not given any implication to the powers concerned of their nonappearance from obligation.
The DTC has a total 12,226 drivers on its rolls, of which 8,039 are regular and 4,187 are on contract.
“They were found to have caused inconvenience to the public by denying them the right to travel in public transport,” a statement said.
The Rajghat warehouse has an armada of 170 buses. At the season of assessment, the clergyman found that just 100 transports had left the station while 57 of them were stopped inside because of different reasons including non-accessibility of drivers.
