Vent it out: Allow yourself to feel angry, bitter and annoyed at whatever happened. Scream it out, go for a job, talk to a friend, listen to loud music. Do whatever it takes to vent out that anger. Pushing it down is not going to help and it could potentially keep re-surfacing.
Spend time on yourself: This includes spending time doing the things you love the most with the people who bring in positivity in your life. Take up some fun activities that consume your mind.
Make your peace: You will often be advised to distract yourself so you can bury the hurt and pain, and even though that may help temporarily, it is never a permanent solution because those feelings of hurt and betrayal are bound to re-surface sooner or later. Making your peace with what happened is important.
