Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan shared on Twitter the teaser of Slam: The Tour, a global connect for his forthcoming film Happy New Year.
Primarily aimed at promoting the superstar’s upcoming heist film Happy New Year the tour will kick start on September 19 in Houston.
Shah Rukh will perform on stage with film’s director Farah Khan and cast Deepika padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Taaha Shah.
In addition, popular singers Yo Yo Honey Singh and Kanika Kapoor of Baby Doll fame will also participate in the tour, while Shah Rukh’s Chaiya Chaiya co-dancer Malaika Arora Khan will be a special performer at the shows.
The tour is a first of its kind promotional gimmick adopted by Shah Rukh through which he plans to reach out to his global fans and create a buzz about Happy New Year.
Starting September 19 at Toyota Center in Houston, the tour will move on to Continental Arena in New Jersey, Air Canada Center in Toronto, Sears Center Arena in Chicago and Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver before it concludes at SAP Center in San Jose, California, on September 28.
“I am blessed to get a lot of love and support from people around the world. This is our way of giving this love back and thanking you all (sic),” Shah Rukh said in a statement.
The heist drama is rumoured to be inspired by the Hollywood hit Ocean’s Eleven series and is slated for a Diwali release.
