Matters escalated pretty quickly recently when singer Justin Timberlake took to Twitter to wish his 4 Minutes co-singer Madonna a happy birthday.
In the tweet, Justin allegedly wrote, “A happiest of Bdays to my mother chucking ninja, @Madonna!! Hope you have a great one, M!” Note: the word ‘chucking’ is a euphemisn for the more profane word starting with the letter ‘f’. The word ‘ninja’ here silently replaces the word ‘n***a’ as popular culture would have us believe.
Fans of the singers were reportedly scandalised by the usage of these words, and hence the tweet, more so because it came in the wake of the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown who was reportedly shot to death by a police officer in the Missouri city of Ferguson, an unfortunate incident that reportedly also led to violent protests in the city.
Although Justin reportedly took down the tweet, the ball was already set in motion and fans took to the micro-blogging site to call him out.
Justin and Madonna are yet to make a statement in the matter.
