‘Leave The Poor Man Alone’, Diggi Raja’s Family Urges Media

The once-media-friendly Congress leader Digvijay Singh is trying to keep few things away from media preview, especially the family issue related to his own marriage with TV journalist and anchor Amrita Rai.

In a bid to put a full stop on ‘wedding speculation’ of Digvijay Singh, the family of the Congress leader on Wednesday urged media to “leave the poor man alone”.

On June 21, Rubina Sharma Singh, the wife of the younger brother of Digvijay Singh, Laxman Singh, had fanned the rumours via social media  by saying that “wedding bells will soon ring in the family”.

Today, Rubina again took to the micro blogging website to clarify that she was, in actual, talking about the wedding of her cousin, not Digvijay Singh.

She also urged media to “leave the poor man alone”, saying the Congress general secretary would make the announcement in this regard himself

It would be worth mentioning here that the Congress general secretary, 67, had in April acknowledged his relationship with the TV anchor on Twitter after intimate photographs of the two appeared on the social networking site.

The former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh had then posted two tweets, acknowledging the relationship with Rai.

“I have no hesitation in accepting my relationship with Amrita Rai. She and her husband have already filed a mutual consent divorce case.”
