Nitish on Twitter: Can social media earn votes in Bihar?
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday launched a ‘Shabdwapsi’ campaign against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter, in protest against his “derogatory remarks” against Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders.
Bihar will go to polls in November this year and in his campaign for the Bhartiya Janata Party, PM Modi had accused Nitish Kumar of breaking up the BJP for “personal gains”.
“I was hurt when he withdrew his support. But when he did the same thing to a Mahadalit such as Jitan Manjhi, then I figured out there is something wrong in his political DNA,” he said, referring to the JD-U’s split with the BJP in 2013.
In a series of tweets, the CM said Modi’s DNA comment is an insult to Bihar and its people adding that now they will decide on this matter.
