Opposition parties required a state wide bandh in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday requesting uncommon status for the state.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Police kept various protesters in Vishakhapatnam.
The bandh, which had been called by the Communist Party of India (CPI), is being upheld by the Congress which has called upon individuals to battle for the privilege of the state to have exceptional status without falling back on self-immolation.
