Previous sub-inspector conceded bail

Shillong:A previous cop, who was captured and rejected from administration on charges of assaulting two minor sisters two years prior in South West Garo Hills region of Meghalaya, was conceded safeguard by a nearby court here.

Nurul Islam, a previous sub-inspector and accountable for Ampati Police Station, was allowed safeguard by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate K M Lyngdoh Nongbri yesterday after his 14 day legal care was over.

The court conceded safeguard against a surety of Rs 1 lakh and subject to his satisfaction of stringent conditions set around the court, South West Garo Hills area Addl S P Lethindra Sangma said.

Islam was coordinated not to slip away or hamper with the examination, undermine or go anyplace close to the casualties, complainants or witnesses and stay inside of the locale of the court, he said.

The previous cop was charged of assaulting a minor young lady in Ampati police headquarters two years back and in this way assaulting her sister too in their home two or three weeks after the fact.

In the wake of slipping away since 2013, Islam had surrendered willfully in the eyes of a court here a month ago.
