Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday took on the Modi government in Lok Sabha over the closure of a food park in Amethi.
Making a speech in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi said, “I am not talking about suits. I am speaking about potatoes. A farmer asked me, that we sell potatoes for Rs. 2 per kilogram, but when our children go to buy chips, they have to pay Rs. 10 per packet.”
Rahul Gandhi added, “All I want to say is that the Food Park in Amethi will bring a massive change in the lives of farmers, please don’t cancel it. PM promised politics of change, not revenge, but that’s exactly what’s happened in Amethi.”
The Centre is now planning to develop Amethi, Rahul Gandhi’s constituency as a smart city.
