Rakhi Sawant has tendered resignation from her own political party Rashtriya Aam Party (RAP). The decision came after she could manage to secure only 1,995 votes from North-West parliamentary constituency in Mumbai.
She had contested against Gajanan Chandrakant Kirtikar of Shiv Sena, Gurudas Kamat of Congress and Mayank Ramesh Gandhi of Aam Aadmi Party.
The rumour is that now she wants to join the BJP. Media reports suggest she will go to Delhi to meet BJP’s top brasses like Rajnath Singh, Narendra Modi and Sushma Swaraj.
Addressing a press conference, Rakhi said that she has now realised her mistake and wants to join the BJP soon. She is sure that the party will accept her and she does not want to contest elections again and wants to join the BJP only for the welfare work.
