Troubles for filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma seem to be doubling with each day passing. His name in Twitter rants keeps coming up now and then. And the latest being the controversial comments that he made on the ocassion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Not just verbal fights, now the recent reports claim that he is neck deep in debts.
A leading tabloid quoted a friend of the producer-director as saying, “He does not use his Andheri office anymore. He has been in Hyderabad the past few months making a Telugu film. He had promised to be back in August but didn’t show up. His recent tweets came out of the blue and sent everybody here into a tizzy.”
More so, the creditors (once his friends) have come up in open and confirmed the news.
The report said that RGV owes Rs.9 crore to financer Bharat Shah. The list also includes Reliance Entertainment.
Also, the production house’s CFO Shibasish Sarkar confirmed that the filmmaker owes them to the tune ofRs.32 crore.
“He has only paid us Rs.4 crore approximately. We took him to court, which issued a directive that he has to pay a certain percentage from his every film hereafter. He abided by the order for some time, but then defaulted. We have informed the court about this,” the tabloid quoted Sarkar as saying.
