Supreme Court looking for Centre’s response on CVC appointment

According to report Supreme Court on Thursday sought the Centre’s response to a plea seeking to broaden the zone of consideration for the appointment of the Central Vigilance Commissioner and making the entire process transparent.

The apex court bench, headed by Chief Justice R.M. Lodha asked the government to respond by October 9, 2014 as Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi assured the court that the government will not go with appointment of the Chief Vigilance Commissioner till the matter was heard by it.Noting the assurance by Mr. Rohatgi, the court directed the listing of the matter for final hearing October 14.
