Two male elephants were crushed to death by a speeding train at a level crossing in Alipurduar in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district today.
The incident happened when the two wild elephants from nearby forest were crossing the track near the Madha tea garden between Hashimara and Hemiltongonj, according to a forest range officer.The seriously injured animals succumbed to their injuries, he said.
